Asthma - The only sustainable cure for asthma lies in yoga. Inhalers can save your life when you get an asthma attack but when it comes to a long-term cure you have to practice pranayam and anulom-vulom. This certainly is a life saver.

Hypertension - High blood pressure can be caused due to a number of reasons. Like stress at office, daily routine stress and what not? It is a disease that can be cured only by regular practice of meditative yoga asanas like the pranayama.

Indigestion - Indigestion is not just a disease but an epidemic among working people these days. However, you can cure indigestion with medicines by trying the child pose or wind relieving pose.

Migraine - Migraine headaches are often caused because there is not enough blood supply to the brain. Try the yoga poses like sirsasana or complete headstand to cure migraine headaches instead of popping pain killers.

Arthritis -Arthritis is a disease that causes severe joint pain and unfortunately incurable. But yoga can help control the amount of pain caused due to arthritis. Try the suryanamaskar as a versatile way to cure arthritis pain

Visit the Yoga capital of India – a journey of knowledge (18-4-2016)

Yoga’s history has many places of obscurity and uncertainty due to its passing on from generations after generations in the form of sacred texts and the secretive nature of its teachings. The early writings on yoga were transcribed on fragile palm leaves that were easily damaged, destroyed or lost. The development of yoga can be traced back to over 5,000 years ago, but some researchers think that yoga may be up to 10,000 years old.

Many yogis dream of taking a pilgrimage to “Rishikesh” the unofficial yoga capital of the world that catapulted to western fame when the Beatles arrived in the 1960s to study meditation. This cow-dung-ridden and hippie-haven town is considered the start of many sacred journeys in India where the holy Ganges River flows down from the Himalayan foothills.

Another special place to the name of Yoga lies at the Mysore city, which is not just a place for palaces and temples but also known for its heritage in the State and a very popular yoga destination. Apart from locals, the city attracts a good number of foreigners every year who train themselves in yoga. Currently more than 200 Yogic schools have been teaching / practicing yoga to Indian and foreign learners on daily basis in Mysore. After the United Nation declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day, there is more awareness about the importance of practicing Yoga in different countries and in different forms. It is the only wellness program practiced since centuries, particularly in India without medicine and its side effects. Yoga does not confine to physical exercises but it covers spiritualism and overall health and wellness of human race.

Remember, yoga is a continuous process. So keep practicing! The deeper you move into your yoga practice, the more profound are its benefits. Stay tuned with us to know more about this event full of life and learning at the International Mysore Yoga Festival along with the Yoga Gurus from across the globe. We promise to throw more light and share more knowledge to portray you this art of Yoga and how important it is to know about it.
